Hoover City Council Approves $28 Million Economic Development Agreement for Stadium Trace Village Expansion

HOOVER, Ala. — Broad Metro is proud to announce that the Hoover City Council has officially approved a $28 million performance-based economic development agreement supporting the continued expansion of Stadium Trace Village, marking a major milestone in one of Alabama’s most transformative mixed-use developments.

The agreement includes performance-based economic development incentives and infrastructure improvements that will support the next stages of Stadium Trace Village. This partnership reflects a shared commitment between the City of Hoover and Broad Metro to create long-term economic growth while enhancing one of the region’s premier destinations for healthcare, retail, dining, entertainment, and recreation.

The approval represents another significant step in Broad Metro’s vision to continue building a destination that serves residents, businesses, and visitors throughout the Southeast.

Building on a Strong Foundation

Since opening in 2019, Stadium Trace Village has become one of the Birmingham region’s most successful mixed-use developments. What began as a vision to create a vibrant destination has grown into a thriving community of nationally recognized retailers, restaurants, healthcare providers, hotels, and local businesses.

Today, Stadium Trace Village welcomes millions of visitors each year and has generated hundreds of millions of dollars in taxable sales, creating substantial economic value for the City of Hoover while establishing itself as a regional destination.

The continued success of Phase I has created the momentum for the next chapters of development.

Expanding the Vision

The approved economic development agreement accelerates Broad Metro’s long-term vision for Stadium Trace Village, beginning with the continued development of Phase II while laying the groundwork for Phase III and future expansion.

Representing more than $200 million in private investment, Phase II will introduce several new destinations and amenities, including:

  • Chasing Aces, a premier golf entertainment venue bringing an exciting new recreational experience to Hoover
  • An approximately 80,000-square-foot surgical plaza, expanding access to high-quality healthcare services
  • Additional retail and restaurant destinations
  • The Village Green, featuring an amphitheater and community gathering space for concerts, events, and year-round programming
  • Expanded pedestrian connectivity and infrastructure improvements
  • Additional recreational amenities designed to enhance the overall visitor experience

As Stadium Trace Village continues to grow, Phase III will further expand the development with additional commercial opportunities, complementary mixed-use components, and future amenities that continue Broad Metro’s vision of creating one of the Southeast’s premier destinations.

Together, the upcoming phases are expected to create approximately 300 construction jobs and 500 permanent jobs, while generating long-term economic benefits for Hoover and the surrounding region.

A Partnership Focused on Long-Term Growth

The approved agreement is performance based, meaning incentives are earned only as the project generates new economic activity and tax revenue. This approach ensures that public investment is tied directly to measurable growth while helping fund infrastructure improvements that will support future development.

For Broad Metro, this partnership demonstrates what can be accomplished when the public and private sectors work together to create meaningful, lasting economic impact.

“This approval represents much more than the next phase of a development,” said William Kadish, Founder of Broad Metro. “It reflects a shared vision for the future of Hoover and what can be accomplished when public and private partners work together. We are grateful for the confidence the City of Hoover has placed in this project and look forward to delivering a destination that will continue creating jobs, attracting investment, and serving this community for generations.”

Looking Ahead

With the economic development agreement now approved, Broad Metro will continue advancing planning, engineering, and construction activities as Stadium Trace Village enters its next chapter of growth.

The continued expansion of Stadium Trace Village represents more than new buildings or infrastructure. It is about creating opportunities for businesses to grow, expanding access to healthcare, introducing new entertainment and recreation, and providing gathering places where the community can connect.

As Broad Metro looks toward the future, Phase II and Phase III will continue building upon the success of Stadium Trace Village while reinforcing Hoover’s position as one of the Southeast’s leading destinations for commerce, healthcare, entertainment, and community development.

Broad Metro remains committed to thoughtful investment, innovative development, and creating projects that leave a lasting impact for generations to come.
