Stadium Trace Village to be Developed in Hoover, Alabama

Stadium Trace Village, a Medical and Retail Center serving the City of Hoover as well as the Greater Hoover/Birmingham, Alabama trade markets, is now under development.

The property will draw a level flow of visitors by offering best-in-category operators among its tenants, including a world-renowned medical center and a market known worldwide and in Alabama (except now it will be closer) for their farm-fresh assortment of organic produce and quality grocery items. The property will also offer experiential stores, restaurants and properly located hotels that may accommodate the community’s visitors for events at the Met Sports Stadium (Home to the SEC Baseball Tournament) and Finley Sports Complex and Convention Center as well as the regionally acclaimed Hoover High School.   

The property’s visibility and easy accessibility start with the location providing nearly 1500’ of frontage along I459 (exit 10) and over 2000’ of frontage on Highway 150 (John Hawkins Parkway). The property is then bordered by Stadium Trace Parkway to the east. The grading and infrastructure plans are designed to enhance the natural visibility and access with improved roadways, including traffic signals with additional dedicated turning lanes allowing for easy access for Hoover residents and workers and especially for residents and commuters to Trace Crossings.

Several of the country’s finest developers have worked to provide conceptual plans for a renewed Stadium Trace Parkway entranceway. Improvements to Stadium Trace Parkway will benefit local residents, and any temporary power lines will be moved to permanent locations that will be away from Stadium Trace Parkway. Landscape designs will incorporate the transplanting of native trees along with new specimen trees that will thrive with proper spacing and coordinate with the planned entranceway designs. The trees will shelter winding sidewalks and dedicated paths connecting to a city-designed bicycle plan.

Projected opening date for the development is fourth quarter 2018.

Since joining MAP Development in 2005, Mike has developed several retail shopping centers including Eastwood Village, a 370,000-square-foot power center anchored by Wal-Mart. With over 20 years of retail development experience, Mike has managed construction activities on a diversified list of projects. Skipper Consulting, Inc. is an engineering firm that specializes in traffic engineering, transportation planning, and parking consulting. The Alabama-based corporation is headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama. As transportation specialists, Skipper Consulting is authorized to provide engineering services in the States of Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, Georgia and Mississippi. Individuals within the firm are authorized to practice in all Southeastern states. Skipper Consulting, Inc. was incorporated in May 1998. The staff has been practicing traffic engineering and transportation planning in Alabama and throughout the United States since 1966. Members of the Professional staff have a collective experience of over 170 years, averaging 19 years per professional staff member. Prior to 1998, several members of the professional staff worked together in the Traffic Engineering/Planning Department of a national Fortune 500 and ENR Top-10 Engineering firm.

Geotechnical Engineering:

Contour Engineering conducts subsurface geotechnical investigations, site characterization, and geotechnical foundation design recommendations for both public and private clients. Soil testing is performed in-house at an AASHTO certified geotechnical soils testing laboratory.
